In addition to centrally allocated funding from the Department for Education for the numbers of pupils in a school we also receive some additional funding. This year (2020-21) we have received Pupil Premium, Sports and Catch-Up funding. Please click the links for more information.
Pupil premium funding is available for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of ‘disadvantaged pupils’ and close the educational gaps between them and their peers. ‘Disadvantaged pupils’ are pupils who are Children Looked After, service children, children who have been in receipt of a Free School Meal in the previous six years and pupils who are currently eligible for a Free School Meal. It is very important for families who are eligible for Free School Meals to apply for them in order to receive the additional funding available. We are happy to help with this if you think you might be eligible.
Sports Premium funding is funding based on the number of pupils in Years 1 to 6. The Sports Premium is ring-fenced funding which the school must use to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport we offer. We use our funding to develop and enrich our PE and sports activities and to make improvements that will benefit children in the future, including specific training for staff.
Catch-Up Funding is the funding put in place by the government to support schools as they reintegrate pupils back to learning after the period of school closure due to COVID-19. This funding is specifically targetted at supporting pupils in closing learning gaps. Please read the strategy to find out how we are using our funding.
