In addition to centrally allocated funding from the Department for Education for the numbers of pupils in a school we also receive some additional funding, known as Pupil Premium and Sports Premium funding.
> Pupil premium funding is available for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of ‘disadvantaged pupils’ and close the educational gaps between them and their peers. ‘Disadvantaged pupils’ are pupils who are Children Looked After, service children, children who have been in receipt of a Free School Meal in the previous six years and pupils who are currently eligible for a Free School Meal. It is very important for families who are eligible for Free School Meals to apply for them in order to receive the additional funding available. We are happy to help with this if you think you might be eligible. More info (PDF) >
Sports Premium funding is funding based on the number of pupils in Years 1 to 6. The Sports Premium is ring-fenced funding which the school must use to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport we offer. We use our funding to develop and enrich our PE and sports activities and to make improvements that will benefit children in the future, including specific training for staff. More info (PDF) >
