School Secretary/Personal Assistant to the Headteacher

We have a strong team ethos and we are looking to recruit a new school secretary to join our committed and hardworking office staff.

The successful candidate will be someone who is:

  • highly literate
  • extremely confidential
  • well-organised
  • enthusiastic
  • positive
  • unflappable
  • patient

If you have excellent interpersonal skills, experience of clerical and administrative work in a busy office environment, a high level of computer literacy – including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to use online web-based programs and databases, such as SIMS and an attention to detail, then we are looking for you.

The ability to be able to prioritise effectively and act quickly to situations using your own initiative are crucial to this role. Knowledge of school processes is an advantage but training will be given. A flexible approach is essential as the requirements of a school office vary from day to day.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.

This is a term time only role, with the expectation that most INSET days are worked.  The hours of work are 8.30am-4.00pm – and these are non-negotiable – five days a week (although 4 days might be possible). The salary range is £18,795 to £20,344 full time equivalent, which is paid pro-rata for the hours worked; therefore, if five days are worked, the actual salary is £13,709 to £14,839.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged.  Please telephone the school office on 01707 888100 to arrange an appointment.
